Field Trips

The Key West Aquarium showcases a piece of Key West history as well as the island’s current relationship with the marine ecosystems we rely on. Education and community engagement are core values of the Key West Aquarium, and we are happy to support learning and to foster a love of history and natural resources by hosting field trips to the aquarium. To ensure the best experience for groups while meeting the operational needs of the aquarium, the following guidelines govern field trips to the aquarium:

Groups should be no more than 30 people at a time. The best time for field trips to the aquarium is between 9 am and 11 am. Visits need to be kept to one hour or less. This is enough time for students to view and engage with the exhibits and attend a guided tour. It also allows larger groups to split and stagger their visit with other attractions, such as the Shipwreck Treasure Museum. There must be at least two adults per 10 children in a group. Additional chaperones are welcome and encouraged to accompany groups that need extra help to meet their students’ specific needs. The Key West Aquarium is happy to offer discounted ticket prices for Monroe County students and accompanying adults. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or specific requests. We look forward to sharing the wonder of the ocean with you!
