Our Python Has an Upgraded Home!
That’s right. Our albino Burmese python Mojo recently received some renovations to his home at the Key West Aquarium. Even though he is an invasive species in the South Florida region, we sure are lucky to have him here at the Aquarium. While Mojo is about 10 feel long, most Burmese pythons are 12 feet long, but have been known to grow up to 19 feet long. These kinds of pythons are considered one of the five largest snakes in the whole world and originate from Southeast Asia, which is why they are considered an invasive species here in Florida. Found in countries like India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and even Nepal, they inhabit mostly grasslands and marshes, although Burmese pythons are also excellent swimmers and climbers.
