The Key West Aquarium is committed to supporting local organizations that work to preserve the vital marine ecosystems of the Florida Keys. We do this through participating in conservation activities, fundraising and providing a platform for outreach.
Locals Sunday is a great platform for local conservation groups to share their message! The first group that visited this year was Save-A-Turtle of the Florida Keys. This group is a volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of sea turtles. The Key West Aquarium is a longtime supporter of their efforts, and we are excited to work more closely with them this year. The Locals Sunday event was a hit! Guests were able to “talk turtles” with the SAT volunteers and decorate reusable bags as a souvenir.
